Kids just wanna have fun

June marks the begin-ning of street festivals throughout the City, so why not one just for kids? The folks at Ghirardelli Square have done just that, and this year’s third annual KidsBash Family Festival promises to be bigger than ever, spilling out of the square and onto Beach Street and Aquatic Park. The festival kicks off the summer on Saturday, June 30.

There will be all kinds of events geared for kids 10 and younger, including visits from Hello Kitty and our local firefighters (along with their fire engine); and loads of fun activities like a jumpy house, rock climbing, face painting, live entertainment, and much more — sure to bring out the kid in everyone.

Appropriately, the event is free for adults, but you’ll need a $20 ticket for your kids so they can enjoy all the fun stuff. You can get a discount and help a local nonprofit, Help A Mother Out, by visiting www.ghirardellisq.com (click on Events, then KidsBash, and follow the links from there).

And of course you’ll want to take advantage of the KidsBash Ticket Giveaway exclusively for Marina Times’ readers. Visit www.ghirardellisq.com/kidsbash-contest-june-2012 (you can’t navigate from Ghirardelli Square’s home page), and enter to win a family pack of tickets.
