Two significant GGNRA proposals open for public comment until May

Extension of F-Line Streetcar Service to Fort Mason Center

On March 18, 2011, the National Park Service released the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) for the extension of the F-Line Muni streetcar to Fort Mason Center. The project would lengthen the streetcar line from its existing terminus at Fisherman’s Wharf to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and on to the Fort Mason Center parking lot. The
DEIS presents and analyzes the potential consequences of implementing selected alternatives.

A public open house will be held on April 20, 2011 from 7–9 p.m. in the Golden Gate Room, Building A, Fort Mason Center.

GGNRA Dog Management Plan Comment Period Extended

On Jan. 14, 2011, the National Park Service released a draft plan/draft environmental impact statement (Plan/DEIS) for new dog access rules in the GGNRA. The original 90-day public comment period, which was scheduled to end on April 14, has now been extended for an additional six weeks. The new comment deadline is May 30, 2011.
