WHERE’S THE FUN IN THAT?
May 6, 1:10 a.m.
Fillmore Street at Union
A guy got drunk and decided to have some fun at the expense of total strangers. He grabbed one woman around her waist and threw her over his shoulder and carried her a short distance. When she screamed loudly, he dropped her to the ground and ran towards her friend, who kicked him in the groin. The suspect ran off and the women called the police. Officers arrived and found the shirtless suspect about a block away. “I just like to party” was his excuse for throwing a total stranger over his shoulder. He was arrested due to his apparent level of intoxication. Upon being booked, marijuana was found in the suspect’s pocket. He was cited for the violations and eventually released.

BURGLER NABBED JUST IN TIME
May 10, 7:30 a.m.
Greenwich Street at Van Ness
An officer was called to an apartment building on the report of a possible trespasser in the building. When he got there, he was directed to an upper floor where he came across a suspicious male who had no legitimate business in the building. The suspect actually told the officer that he was just “looking for stuff.” He also told the officer that he waited for someone to leave the building and then pushed the closing door open to gain access to the common area of the building. A computer check revealed he was on probation with a search condition. A check of his backpack revealed various burglary tools (wrench, pry bar, box cutter, gloves, etc.) and prescription medications not in his name. Additionally, property was found that was later discovered to be from a recent car break-in. He was booked on numerous felonies and his probation was revoked.

Several Northern Station officers responded to a call of a home invasion robbery. One officer arrived and met with the victim, who said he answered a knock on his door and was met by an unknown suspect pointing a gun at him. The suspects told the victim if he followed them, they would kill him. The suspects then left the house. Despite the warning, the victim followed from a safe distance. He watched as the suspects got into a cab. The victim was able to get the license plate number and the cab number and call the police. The taxicab’s information was broadcast to all units and it was found in the Mission District within minutes. The suspects were detained and identified by the victim.
