March 6 – Low-Cost Rabies, License & Microchip Clinic: The S.F. Veterinary Medical Association hosts a low-cost rabies clinic from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Rabies vaccination charge is $6. Dog licenses can be purchased at ACC’s front counter with proof of dog’s rabies vaccination. Microchipping is free for city residents with proof of dog’s licensing, $20 per chip for nonresidents.

March 18 – Puppy Movie Night for Kids: What better way to end the school week than getting cozy with canines, enjoying great pet movies, making friends with other young animal lovers, and snacking on pizza and popcorn at the SF/SPCA? This is a special, fun-filled night for children (and an opportunity for parents to enjoy an evening out by themselves) from 6:30–10 p.m. $25 per child, ages K–4th grade. Pajamas are welcome!

March 30 – 15th Bark & Whine Ball: CLAW (Critter Lovers at Work), an all-volunteer support group of the SF/SPCA, will host this special benefit. You and your dog are invited to walk the red carpet at the Herbst Pavilion, Fort Mason Center, to party with more than 700 guests and their dogs. All proceeds from the ball will benefit the Cinderella Fund, which helps the neediest shelter pets with medical care. Tickets $150 and up.

March 5 – The Bunnies are Coming: It’s the Year of the Rabbit, so come to the shelter lobby from noon–3 p.m. to meet playful, loving rabbits available for adoption. Have a question about rabbit care? Come in and ask. For more information about this adoption event, visit www.saveabunny.org.

March 26 – Twilight Tour, 6–9 p.m.: Earth Hour, a global event organized by the World Wildlife Fund, asks households and businesses to turn off their nonessential lights for one hour to raise awareness toward the need for action on climate change. Bring the whole family to learn about climate change, its affect on our world, and how we can help. The Twilight Tour experience consists of a pizza dinner, nocturnal safari, Q&A with a zookeeper, and a biofact presentation. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All ages welcome, but program is specifically designed for those 4 and up. Preregistration required.

This two-mile or four-mile fun run/walk set in the picturesque Marin Headlands is open to all ages – perfect for families, runners (casual and pro), walkers, and power-strollers. Dogs on leashes are welcome too!

Afterward, you’re invited to the Center to enjoy a family fun day with free food and drinks plus educational tours. Register online before March 9 and receive a free race t-shirt. Entry fees support the Center and its patients. 415-289-7325,
