Sept. 11 – Low-Cost Rabies, License and Microchip Clinic: The S.F. Veterinary Medical Association hosts a low-cost rabies clinic from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Rabies vaccination charge is $6. Dog licenses can be purchased at ACC’s front counter with proof of dog’s rabies vaccination. Microchipping is free for S.F. residents with proof of dog’s licensing, $20 per chip for nonresidents.

Sept. 17 – Tiles for Tales: Drop by from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. and make a wall tile in honor of your best friend and in support of ACC. $120 tax-deductible donation. Want a tile or two of your own up on ACC walls but can’t attend a tile-making event? Donate $200 or more online and ACC will create an Animal Celebration Tile for you. Free Spay/Neuter Procedures for All Pit Bulls and Pit Mixes Indefinitely: San Francisco residents interested in scheduling a sterilization appointment for their pit bull or pit mix can call 415-554-3030 or visit www.sfspca.org/pit.

Sept. 10 – Senior Dog Seminar: In this unique one-day seminar, students will learn creative, safe and comfortable ways to physically and mentally stimulate their older canine; be able to further empathize with and support their aging dog’s unique challenges and needs; and learn about resources to help cope with illnesses and beyond with their senior best friend. $25 ($20 before Sept. 1).

Sept. 20 – Preschool Story Time: This monthly program is designed for children ages 3–5. SF/SPCA humane educators read an animal-related children’s book with a humane message at each session, and readings are followed by a craft or activity and an animal interaction. This program encourages preschool-age children to foster kindness and respect for animals. 10 a.m.

Focusing on the diverse and natural beauty of these giants of the spider world, the exhibit provides a uniquely engaging and educational experience for children and adults of all ages.

PetSaver classes teach students useful skills in caring for their pet, in addition to teaching skills needed to manage a wide range of pet-related emergencies.Topics include canine and feline CPR, rescue breathing, shock management, assessing pet vitals, seizures, and poisoning.
