Jan. 8 – Living with Lions: The Lion Guardian Program: The Wild Places, Wild Things Conservation Lecture Series presents Dr. Laurence Frank, director of Living with Lions, from noon–1:30 p.m.. The African lion is plunging toward extinction, with fewer than 30,000 remaining, most in national parks too small to provide long-term protection. Living with Lions works with traditional Masai warriors to reverse the decline, emphasizing age-old customs that encourage coexistence between humans and wildlife. Recommended for ages 12 and above.
