June 5 – Low-Cost Rabies, License & Microchip Clinic: The S.F. Veterinary Medical Association hosts a low-cost rabies clinic from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Rabies vaccination charge is $6. Dog licenses can be purchased at ACC’s front counter with proof of dog’s rabies vaccination. Microchipping is free for S.F. residents with proof of dog’s licensing, $20 per chip for nonresidents.

June 8–July 13 – Introduction to K9 Nosework: Learn to work with the extraordinary power of the canine nose! This six-week evening class provides an opportunity and outlet for the natural hunting and scenting abilities of all dogs, whether puppies or adults. High food or toy motivation is beneficial. $180.

May 22 – Vanishing of the Bees: The film Vanishing of the Bees takes a piercing investigative look at the economic, political and spiritual implications of the worldwide disappearance of the honeybee. The feature-length documentary, narrated by Oscar-nominated Ellen Page, also celebrates the ancient and sacred connection between humans and honeybees. Screenings at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Free with zoo admission.

June 6–Aug. 12 – Summer Zoo Camp Sessions: Children from pre-K through 7th grade can spend a week (daytime only) at the zoo learning about the animals, their habitats, and their care. Craft projects and games reinforce the concepts that are taught. Keeper talks, observation walks, and lots of hands-on activities will keep kids enthralled. Preregistration required.
