President Obama appoints three new Presidio Trust members

President Obama has named three new members to the Presidio Trust Board of Directors to replace those whose terms have expired.

The new appointees are David H. Grubb, William R. Hambrecht and Charlene Harvey. They are replacing outgoing board members T. Robert Burke, Nancy Connor and Curtis Feeny.

The Presidio Trust is governed by a seven-member board of directors, six of whom are appointed by the president of the United States. The seventh is the current U.S. Secretary of the Interior (or his designee).

"These three individuals have tremendous passion for the outdoors and the Presidio in particular," said Craig Middleton, executive director for the Presidio Trust. "They bring experience and energy to the challenges facing the Presidio."

David H. Grubb chaired the Trust's board of directors from December 2003 to July 2009. He also served on the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy board of trustees from 1990 until 2000, during which time he oversaw the effort to restore Crissy Field.

William R. Hambrecht is a veteran financier with a reputation as an innovative thinker. He is the founder of the San Francisco-based financial services firm WR Hambrecht + Company and currently serves on the board of directors of Motorola Inc., AOL Inc. and Decision Economics Inc. He also serves on the board of trustees of the American University of Beirut.

Charlene Harvey, a longtime resident of San Francisco, worked for 16 years with the Management Center of San Francisco as a staff consultant to nonprofit organizations. She currently serves as a board member of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the San Francisco Foundation and other organizations. As former board chair of the Parks Conservancy, Mrs. Harvey was a driving force behind the Inspiration Point Overlook, helping to fund the project in memory of her late husband, Jim Harvey.
