Throughout the Bay Area
Both beginning and experienced birdwatchers can join guided trips, organize their own trip, or count independently and raise money by asking for pledged donations to the Golden Gate Audubon on a fixed or per-species basis. Then, over a period of either 4 or 24 consecutive hours, try to see as many species as possible.
