HOW DID YOU GET INTO THIS LINE OF BUSINESS?

When I began my career as an organic caterer turned holistic nutritionist, I never thought it would lead me to where I am today. But it was a natural progression, and my views of feeding the body from the inside out have always been my driving force.

I started looking for natural, clean and organic products for my nutrition clients, but I was frustrated by all of the chemical-laden options. So I decided to use my own background in cooking, nutrition, organics, and being a master herbalist and just formulate them myself.
I’ve studied natural oils and botanicals for years, and I now formulate some of the safest skin, face and body products available for my plant-based Skin brand.

HOW DOES YOUR BUSINESS REFLECT YOUR VALUES?

We carry face and body products, as well as the No. 1 safest natural sunscreen and makeup. We are members of PETA and are a certified green business with the Green Business Network. We’re really committed to natural, healthy skin. Just check Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Database, and you’ll see that every Skin product is rated as the safest available out there.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO BE IN SAN FRANCISCO?

My Skin brand has been selling online and in spas, boutiques and grocers for five years now, but I did my research and found that the best location for my flagship retail store would be in the Union Street area. I am very excited to be open now. Together with my manager, Sheila, I’ll help people find the best organic products for their own skin types.
