Update on crime

From January through July 24, crimes rose overall by 3.12 percent compared to the same timeframe in 2021. Specifically, incidents of rape were up 41.67 percent; other increases came in assault (23.7 percent), motor vehicle theft (9.01 percent), arson (44 percent), and larceny theft (13.55 percent). 

During that same time period, robberies declined by 12.37 percent, human trafficking involving a sex act dropped 33.33 percent, and burglaries were down by 38.77 percent, according to Northern Station police.
