San Francisco will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference this month, likely to be the largest gathering of business and political leaders in the city since the United Nations charter was signed in 1945.

As the premier Asia-Pacific economic forum, the conference aims to build a more interconnected, innovative, and inclusive region to support sustainable economic growth and prosperity, with this year’s theme,“Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All.”

APEC sponsor biotech firm MEBO International collaborated with Marina Times and Entrepreneur Magazine to launch “APEC 2023 Dialogue,” an initiative to promote conversation and cooperation among the United States, China, and the greater Asia-Pacific region prior to the conference. The Marina Times is a media sponsor for APEC 2023 Dialogue series and Street Media (parent company of the Marina Times) is sponsoring the official media reception at the APEC conference this month.

To program the APEC 2023 Dialogue, MEBO engaged partners from international organizations, think tanks, universities, and research institutes, as well as entrepreneurs, youth leaders, and international students with global vision, to participate in this dialogue and share their expectations about this year’s APEC. The series of panel discussions and interviews took place throughout October, and featured leaders speaking on a diverse set of issues, including public health, international trade and investment, youth engagement, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

“APEC is not only a place where you emphasize trade and partnership, but also provide a platform where to start a dialogue, where people will be able to share what they have seen around the world,” said Kevin Xu, CEO of MEBO International, at the launch ceremony for APEC 2023 in San Francisco. (Mr. Xu is an investor in Street Media.)

In an era when the global economy is in a precarious state, the protracted negative effects of the pandemic persist, while complex geopolitics and international relations overshadow international cooperation and shared prosperity.

APEC aims to confront these challenges by being a platform to build a dynamic and harmonious Asia-Pacific community with the goal of moving all stakeholders forward together to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future.
