TWO WHEELS WERE TOO TEMPTING
May 27, 5:10 a.m.
Lombard Street at Baker
Police received a call from someone who was at the front counter of his workplace when he heard glass break. The caller looked outside to see a male removing a bicycle from the broken window of a van.
Officers arrived and detained a male who was wearing clothing that matched the description provided by the caller, as well as riding a matching bike. The witness confirmed that the subject detained was the male he saw remove the bike from a van. Officers were able to locate the owner of the van and bicycle, and the owner confirmed that it was his bike that was stolen.
The subject was subsequently booked at Northern Station.
VICTIM AIDS ROBBERY ARREST
May 29, 11:46 a.m.
Fillmore Street at Marina Boulevard
Officers were dispatched to a street robbery in progress. The caller stated that there was a woman screaming who appeared to be struggling with a male over a laptop computer. Officers arrived and found the woman very upset and scared. The officers got a better description of the suspect and broadcast it to assisting officers in the area, who quickly located a male matching the description. The woman told police that her purse and laptop had been stolen. She also said that she had been scratched and pushed to the ground by the male during the robbery.
SFFD medics arrived and treated her injuries. Several witnesses told police the same story as the victim. Officers transported the victim to the area where the suspect was detained. They read and explained the “cold show form,” which the victim signed. The victim was sure that the police had detained the male who robbed her. He was arrested and booked at Northern Station. Unfortunately, the stolen laptop and purse were not located. Police later received a call regarding a citizen finding the victim’s purse in the area,
but no laptop.
SUSPICION IS WARRANT(ED)
May 30, 11 a.m.
Chestnut Street at Steiner
Officers received a call regarding a homeless male possibly in possession of a stolen vehicle. The caller gave a description of the male and the vehicle. Upon their arrival, the officers saw the car with the matching license plate. The occupant stated that he rented the car several days earlier. Officers confirmed this information with the rental car company, but a computer check of the subject revealed an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was booked at Northern Station. The rental car company picked up the car as its rental agreement was expiring in hours.
COUCH POTATO TURNS HOT POTATO
June 11, 12:50 a.m.
Fillmore Street at Pixley
Officers responded to a citizen’s complaint of a male with a gun. The caller said that a very heavy male wearing a black T-shirt, hat and shorts had a black handgun in his waistband. Numerous officers arrived on scene. The subject had apparently entered a public area that was crowded with other people.
Officers located the male and searched him for officer safety, but did not locate any gun. Officers asked the group he was with to exit the establishment. Once outside, the other people were pat-searched for weapons with negative results. An officer who was still inside searched the couch that the group had been seated on and located a loaded, black, semi-automatic, 40-caliber handgun, which was taken into custody.
The heavy-set male subject and a female subject who was seated closest to the gun were arrested and later booked at Northern Station. The other subjects were released.

June 15, 1:03 p.m.
Chestnut Street near Fillmore
Officers arrived at a restaurant regarding a patron who had eaten lunch and left without paying for the meal. Officers were able to detain the female subject. The restaurant owner requested to press charges for the petty theft. The officer’s computer check revealed an outstanding warrant for the subject, who was later booked
at county jail.
